I'd swear that if it wasn't for people leaving before they get killed in RA, I'd have an extra 10k faction. Seriously, I'd like to see a penalty put in place for people that leave PvP missions early. Something as simple and (relatively) harmless as -100 faction would be plenty in my opinion. This means that every time someone denies their opponents 20 faction each (for a total of 80 in RA or TA), they have to match that faction plus some when they leave. If it's a one time thing, then it's no big deal. If it's chronic, then people will get punished for it.
This could benefit ABs and Fort Aspenwood as well, though this is less of a concern in these areas since there is a reward to the looser even if they stay.
Personally, I'm far less concerned with people who quit at the end of the game than those who immediately quit because they didn't get matched with a team they like, or those who just sit there and AFK to soak up free rewards.
Of course, I'll also admit to being terminally guilty of the charge you're levelling, too. It's honestly not worth my time to sit there politely and let you kill me when I'm the last person standing when I'm ready to concede defeat. (don't bother mentioning /resign to me, that still requires time for the full team to input /resigns -- assuming they let me at all) Nor do I feel guilty about shorting someone a measily 20 faction...especially if it's essentially an effortless, free kill.
Anyway, long story short: devs are welcome to nerf endgame quitters if it really bugs everyone that much, but people who actually interfere with the formation of teams and ruin matches - by making a conscious choice to screw their team over BEFORE THE STARTING GATE HAS EVEN OPENED - are by far a much bigger issue than a measily 20 Faction here and there. (seriously, 10 endgame quitters is 200 faction...I regularly RA and that much amounts to jack compared to how much Faction I've made in the time it took 10 people to quit)

How about this...
When people quit, instead of just gone, they leave their cropes on the ground... and if rez, an AI powered Henchman (of same profession) replace them instead... And if they die than quit, it will have the same effect, but the hench will also suffer the dp. (and the rez sig will be free to use while in the count down phrase) It give you still possible chance of winning even when you have droppers.
OMFG not this again...
There a better ideas out there other than penalising people... use the search function to find them.
