HUGE boost to Expl. MM in Nightfall

Ok, till now I've never met another Explosive MM(for anyone who doesn't know it's a Rt/N which uses Boon of Creation, Explosive Growth, Animate Bone Minions and Death Nova as his main skills) and I'm still wondering why as it's REALLY effective(more than a standard MM IMO) in missions with big groups of enemies. Anyway, with NF, ANet introduced a long series of skills which seems like they've been created for us Explosive MMs. Consider these:

    Death Magic:
    -Feast For The Dead
Destroy target animated undead ally. All of your other animated undead allies are healed for 10...82 Health.

    -Putrid Flesh
Destroy target animated undead ally. All foes near that creature are Diseased for 5...13 seconds

    Spawning Power:
    -Feast Of Creation(ELITE)
Destroy target allied summoned creature. You gain 5...17 Energy.

    -Spirit's Gift
For 60 seconds, whenever you create a creature, all allies near that creature gain 5...41 Health and lose 1 Condition.

Ok so FotD is not really great but can help you when running from a pack of monsters to another: simply destroy ur minion with fewest hp and you'll allow all the others a few seconds of life
Putrid Flesh and FoC are both 1-cast minion destroyer and moreover they allow you to disease enemies or gain energy! This means that if u want a minion to die quickly you won't need anymore 2 or 3 casts of Taste of Death(which cost u about 15 energy) and means also that the poison degeneration you're speading with DNova will sum to the disease one... wow -8 degen AoE + spreading from disease O_O
Spirit Gift is another INCREDIBLE enchantment! Not only will you be shielding lots of damage from your party using your minions and not only will you be dealing lots of damage but you will actually HEAL and Condition-remove every nearby W or Sin or whoever is tanking!!!(And please don't forget to double the heal and condition removal as you're creating 2 minions per cast ^^)

Now I hope that after NF comes out more and more people will try playing an Explosive MM... it's really a fun build to play and less masochist than a standard MM(Why should I sacrifice my health for some dumb minion when I can actually USE his death? ;D). Obviously it requires some practice and you'll have to learn a few tricks to manage to always keep a nice number of minions enchanted with DNova but, well, which build doesn't require practice??

Any thought, comment etc is welcome.. feel free to ask for explanations/tips too!

I play a generic N/Mo MM, and was busy during the Nightfall event, but I'm quite curious about the new Animate Shambling Horror skill and converting to minion bombing. Shambling Horror doesn't give the instantaneous 2 for 1 deal, yet they're stronger than bone minions and if what I heard was true, the Jagged Horrors that spawn from them inflict bleeding on hit. They too may be worth considering in your Explosive MM build.

I saw the skills and considered putting them into my post but I'm not still sure if whenever your minion dies and a jagged horror is summoned you get the effects of your 3 enchantments. If not, this is totally useless for an Expl. MM. If it works, you still have to consider that you're spending way more energy/time than usually as what it's normally accomplished with 1 cast(animate minions) now requires you 2 casts(animate whatever+enchant with jagged). But energy doesn't really seem to be a problem anymore now that Anet put in Feast Of Creation :D So maybe it could work.. I'll have to test it though

It's being discussed in the Necromancer forum also. This little gem of a thread suggests Jagged Bones as a tasty elite for this build.

Didnt the nerf to Boon of creation kill this build?

Nope, I play an explosive mm all the time on quests and it still works like a charm... only problem is I usually have to switch to a restoration build for pugging in missions

The nerf to Boon of Creation lowered the enrgy gained from 7 to 6.. thus meaning that whenever u summon ur minions you now gain 12nrg instead of 14, while you spend 15. So the only effect is that you have to be a little bit more cautious as you're spending(OMG that's too much ;D) 3nrg for 2 minions :)
Moreover, as now we have Feast of Creation... well.. any *possible* problem is solved ^^

also with spirits gift since people will be losing 2 condtions since you spawn 2 minions, it will be able to free your own team up from the disease that may be spreading from putrid flesh. I usually ran tainted flesh on my Rit/N but now this frees up a elite slot.

Rt/N explosive minion master is great. I haven't played it since I started focusing on PvP, but I did use it for a couple PvE missions that gave me trouble with my Rit Lord build. Works like a charm.

I noticed the new skills and their application for a build like this as well. If, as appears may be the case, that the connection between Elona and Cantha will be available at the beginning levels, I'll definitely consider such a build while working through the new PvE content. :)
