I was thinking why didn't I ever get around to finishing WC3 then it hit me. I find RTS games somewhat tedious. It's building then attack, building then attack. Rinse and repeat. After so many RTS games, it get kind of boring.

I agree that some RTS like WC3 can be like that but i've always found SC to be pretty intense, right up there with GW PvP

Starcraft is different in the sense that it doesn't just replace templates for units and buildings for diff. races. All three races have a whole different set of units that aren't just "these guys are made from the barracks, etc."

I'd just like to see if Blizzard can follow up the original Starcraft with something even better. I mean, even 9 years after the release of the original, it's still got a massive following, and the game is just entirely so well-balanced. Blizzard truely had a gem in that game. But yeah, we probably won't know for another 5 years cuz they'll inevitably delay it for that long.

Also, yeah, I think soulwar is trying to say that in Starcraft, as opposed to some other RTSs (like Rise of Nations, Age of Empires, etc...), each of the three races in the game has an entirely different experience attached to it. Rather than minor changes to bonuses that one race, or civilization has compared to another one (oh yay, the foos collect resources slightly quicker than the bars which have slightly more armor...), they have entirely different buildings, and units, and thus different strategies. It's amazing that among three entirely different races, the balance is so perfect. Also, games in Starcraft progress MUCH quicker than most other RTSs, and armies can be quite large.

:D Me too. I haven't tried Zero Hour though, and I only have the original (non-expansion) Generals. China Nukage! (and haxor! take over US central base and use their scan power to nuke enemies)
