Yeah, I agree, a cold new year. But with my new living situation, this year is most definitely the happiest year yet. Looking forward to more of the same in the future.

And I am one month away from my 17th wedding anniversary... I should survive until then.

Staying indoors. Big storm going on outside, I think. Too chicken to look and see.

I don't think the storm was as bad as predicted. 5 or so inches? But the killer is that is another 5 or so inches on top of everything else since nothing melts because we've been averaging 20 - 30 degrees below normal for so long. At work today, it looks like 2/3 of the workforce stayed home.

The Rayburn heats up the whole house when we are cooking, and there is a log fireplace in the living room. Other than that, wear thermals under our clothes and shiver ourselves to sleep

Holy cow! I need to see a photo of that. The Irish shouldn't have to live that way. I'd send money to help get central heating, but I am Irish which means I am broke.

I don't even think we got that 5 inches here - I lost track of just what we got, honestly - but it's more than I'd care for us to have!

We don't have to, it's just that we don't have the money to get anything installed. And it is only for part of the year. the rest of the time it can get pretty hot in here
