    Shattering assault Q

I didnt get to try this skill so i was wondering how it works.

Must follow an off-hand attack. If it hits, target foe loses one Enchantment. If an Enchantment was removed in this way, you deal +15...63 damage.

Ok so i hit someone with just mending on them with shattering assault. Does it deal the +63 on both hits or just the first one?

If i hit someone with mending and vigorous spirit on them. Does it remove both and deal +63 each hit?

I hit someong with protective spirit and reversal of fortune on them. What happens?

From what I heard, you indeed hit twice for pretty large damage with Shattering Assault, making it a hotly anticipiated skill to knock monks and dervishes of their high horses.

I came up with this build after the event, but I did test the new elite to see how it worked and you only get the bonus damage once per enchant removed.

    - If foe has 0 enchants, there is no bonus damage
    - If a foe has 1 enchant, the Dual Attack hits twice but the bonus damage hits once
    - If a foe has 2 enchants, the Dual Attack hits twice and the bonus damage hits twice

So at 15 Daggers you can do +75 damage....twice...

    conditional I know...but still....

*runs to get his assassin ready*

Edit: Arredondo, that is a nice build you put together...

    "Advice? Ermmm.....bring a mesmer?"
"I had to attack it...it was looking at me funny..."

shattering assault is the end of enchants unless its guardian or aegis.. if a sin pulls off horns and you have 2 enchants and no way to block him hes gonna go horns - spider - shattering and your overkilled. If you have more than one enchant including guardian you better hope guardian is covered or it might get knocked off first hit and your still screwed. As much as I want to use it, I also want to see it nerfed cause I run enchant heavy builds a lot.

It's nice to see a solid counter to the dreaded Boon Prot. I'm looking forward to this.

Heh, when it comes to Guardian you still have to hit through it. One thing I like is that RoF won't be triggered to negate the damage and heal if it is on top of the other enchants (uhm, I think that's how it works). The best part of this elite is that it recharges in four seconds... that really means doom for Dervishes and Boon Monks.

I doubt it's nerfed because the damage is blah against non-enchanted foes.

Agreed. Against the right foes, it's frighteningly powerful, but it's still a niche skill.

To get around the block/evade enchantments, simply toss Way of the Fox on yourself, or use Expose Defenses on your opponent, before activating Shattering Assault. SA should take care of the rest.

Of course, boonprots are few and far between these days and will probably be less common come NF. Dervishes are cute but they are in need of serious buffing before I'd ever bother with a character designed to stop them (more so than a normal anti-melee build at least).
