Well, excuse me for being noobish , but on my elonian ranger (<survivor 2 ) I just beat cantha. On the "A hero shall lead them" it says "Gain the rank of Sunspear General or be a leader Kormir recruited from a foreign land. To gain promotion points, talk to Kournan priests to earn the respect of the Kournan people."

Yet it I still need to get 2500 sunspear points Since I have beaten cantham shouldnt I be able to get past his?

The update was intended to bypass the requirement for foreign charcters only, from my understanding, since you weren't recruited from the previous capaign.

You're not a foreigner so you need to be a general.

I found this funny since its like the Sunspears trust foriegn trained troops more than their own members. Seems like they need to beef up the sunspear training course.

This was a change, it used to be required that all characters had to have the sunspear ranks, however players from other chapters were at a significant disadvantage since they could not receive the beginner island quests and bounties to get their rank up, so they changed the requirements for foreign characters. You don't even have to finish the native capaign, you just need to get to lions arch or keining center afaik.

ah it was the wording that confused me, it said become a sunspear r7 OR be a hero from another land. That made me think I could do one or the other.... so I chose to beat factions, and I was a bit surprised nothing happened
