Double post, because of two subjects:
We are four days away from the landing of the NASA Curiosity rover on Mars. Both William Shattner and Wil Wheaton explain how it should turn out, if nothing goes wrong.
PS: Landing with the hover crane looks much more complicated than with a parachute & "air cushions" that they used for (smaller) rovers in the past. But perhaps it won't work any more with the higher weight of the Curiosity rover.
