(Merged) Guild Wars News in next PCGamer Issue?

According to my er... friend's friend, who is apparently a Guild Wars tester, CH4 will not feature any new professions and will be simply a bunch of maps with no storyline :/ just like an expansion to the existing games. But I don't know how reliable this is, since I haven't met this "friend" in person. :)

Fine by me. Atm i dont think we need any more profs/skills.

I wouldnt even mind "Guildwars: the service pack" that adds the various features requested by the users and implement more wide ranging skill balance.

What exactly do you think an Alpha Tester does? Of course all he's seen are maps. They probably haven't flushed out the storyline yet. At this point, C4 is probably just all maps because they haven't injected the new stuff in yet. The maps are obviously part of a larger picture, or they wouldn't have a purpose. It's like looking at a book's cover, turning it to the side, seeing how long it is, and without ever reading a word saying that all the book was is just paper, with no storyline in it. The maps are essentially the "pages" of the book, the story has yet to be inked onto those pages.

No need to jump to conclusions just yet. But you did give that disclaimer, which is always good.

So the only thing being said is "News to Come!" this is almost definately an anagram for "Cow Meet Son"... obviously the next chapter will revolve around some bovine meeting its offspring! the logic is flawless!

That would not work, IMO.

Get the latest skill balance -> if you buy the package! Everyone else will remain imbalanced, though.

New trade house, for those who buy the pack! Of course, if you want to reach all the players and not only those who bought the expansion, you need the good old trade spam...

And so on...Some of the features people ask for have to be global to be effective, the Trade System being the strongest example of this.

I doubt the announcement has anything to do with any of those, though. I also doubt it's just Hard Mode...So it's more likely Chapter 4.

Oh, fiddly-dee. I'm not in the Hype Department. That's in another wing of the building. Well, ok, we don't really have a Hype Department, but if we did, I don't think I'd be in it, I'm in something else altogether. I would say I've been around long enough that those who know me (and I know that's not everyone!) know I love the game and am enthusiastic about it. I'm not more "hype-y" than anyone else on this board who is looking forward to great news about... stuff. So once again: I'm not PR. I'm not Marketing. I'm not Sales. I care about all three, but that's not what I do. My sharing here is just to say I do believe that you will like the news that's coming.
