It fixes one problem (local chat) but creates an even bigger one, players will find it even harder to sell things. The trade and local channel are nearly impossible to read at the rate people spam them already, now imagine it with all that forced into only 1 channel :(

I think it's great Anet want people to trade and sell things with each other but please for the love of god we need a better way off selling and buying things. This is the bottom line, serious trade improvements are needed in the game.

Kind of an unrelated note, but is there any chance the trade channel can actually get the font colors adjusted a bit? Every other channel has different font colors for the username and the message after it. The trade channel just has that one shade of pink for BOTH the username and the message. It is one giant mess of pink, which contributes to the unreadability of it.

Not trying to support that spamming other channels with trade spam is a good thing (I don't believe it is), but a point can be made that the trade channel could certainly get a fixer-upper of its own with just a simple tweak.

Two shades of color in trade chat please. Either make it like every other channel that has different font colors for the username and message or have every other message in a sequence be a different color or something. Just a suggestion.

I can ask about this, as well. However, I believe that this change is not easily accomplished and would take time that our interface programmer would better invest elsewhere. I can sure about about it, though.

No, I don't think so. We'll take action on accounts that are provably spamming All Chat. We won't action somebody looking for a party, or someone else chatting with friends. We will block the account of someone like the player who spends 19.5 hours a day (literally!) spamming in All Chat in order to sell unidentified golds.

Give a temporary ban to anybody who puts a trade message in the local chat.

Anybody? I think that would be a bit draconian! However, giving a time out to those who spam All Chat for a significant period of time with sales, purchases, or trades seems very reasonable, and that's the direction we're heading.

Just another example of Anet throwing a band-aid on a huge gaping wound. Anet wants (almost requires) us to buy / sell / trade with other players but they still don't give us an easy way of doing it.
