Black Swan was a little intense for me at some parts. And, ugh, when she yanks that huge piece of skin off in the sink I almost barfed.

It's a well-done movie, I won't disagree with it. But seems to me that the bulk of it relies on showing her slow descent into madness along with delusions and self-mutilation. Other than that, nothing much happens.

Black Swan was somewhat a very disrturbibg movie for me. It was also a very controversial role for Natalie.

Space Naz*s? Sold!
But I still think they should have called this movie "Close Encounters of the Third Reich".

I'm hoping for a mecha hitler at the end.

A colleague has been working on a space-**** film for quite a while now. This Iron Sky is going to steal his thunder a bit.
Heh. You're not likely to grow very fond of Ran, then. Not only is it in colour and set in the Sengoku era; from what I've read, it's considered one of Kurosawa's most depressing films message-wise (being a loose retelling of King Lear, it could hardly be different, I suppose), even as it's lauded as a spectacular example of a long career's worth of film making experience poured into one project.
I understand Kurosawa got pretty cranky in his old days.
EDIT: Oh, and I actually came to this thread to ask if anyone's seen the new Woman In Black. Reviews seem favourable overall so far.

Eek! That T-rex got me here on the computer! I can see why you'd be afraid of it jumping out at you.I didn't realize it was a water ride.
Rob, you do have a point about the Jaws ride; it's an old one, though the movie will always be a classic.I wonder what they'll replace it with.
Although I don't know if I'll ever make it there since there's such a large portion of the park dedicated to that dreaded Harry Potter. *shudders* If I do go, you won't find me in that section! Plus, isn't it a roller coaster or something? I don't do those anyway, being petrified of heights.
Also, as I'm typing this Breaking Dawn is on TV. It's out at midnight tomorrow! I have to wait until Saturday because our darn Walmart isn't open 24/7, it closes at 11.
Okay, back on topic though, my boyfriend and I went to see Chronicle tonight. It was okay, it held my attention but it's not one I'm going to get the second it comes out (unlike Breaking Dawn, muhahahaha). It's similar to Cloverfield in that the whole thing takes place behind someone's camera, which I didn't realize would be the case. Basically these teenage boys find a large hole in the ground, and of course they have to check it out. There's some weird thing under there and it gives them telekinesis, and of course one of them gets completely out of control with it (having a lousy home life doesn't help), so this big war ensues. Pretty predictable but not a bad movie. I give it 6/10.
