    I don't see the problem, the kids get their laptops. As I recall, that was the original point.

    Actually, they don't. Wintel squashed the early adoption efforts, in order that they never have to worry about it being competition in the future. Worldwide kiddies get screwed, because BillG and Intel never has to lower prices elsewhere to be competitive.
