$800 is actually cheap! I remember when Sissy Boys [sB] sold 1 guild membership spot on ebay. They got a lot of bids and the highest bid was over $1,400!

Selling guild invites is perfectly legal.

selling guild itself might not be considering ANet proclaims ownership over all data contained on their servers, including guilds and such.
