How accurate are the buildings in the game versions compared to the the real thing? I haven't been playing explicit attention to every picture but I did vaguely recognize at least one building you posted..

I was trying to buy the Wrath of the Lamb dlc for Binding of Isaac, but steam was rejecting my card because my IP didn't match the billing address, so I was going to ask for it as a gift then I'd pay you back with something when I get home.

So, is Prometheus an Alien prequel or not? I thought it was originally going to be, but then was announced as only being in the same universe (exploring other "Space Jockey" activities). Yet people still say it's a prequel. I'm confused and possibly misinformed.

Well, this helps. From imdb:

Was originally intended as a prequel to Ridley Scott's Alien, but Scott decided to turn it into an original film with Noomi Rapace (who was already set to star) still in the cast as one of five main characters. Some time later however it was confirmed that while the movie will take place in the same universe as Alien and greatly reference that movie, it will mostly be an original movie and not a direct prequel.

These aren't spoilers but acquired knowledge from the ongoing ARG campaign what has been running. There are no specifics from the film only information which may enrich the backstory content which some people like.

It's my understanding that Prometheus is set in the near future. Guy Ritchie is Peter Weyland, a Tesla of today. His quest for mapping out science and ultimately immortality benefits humanity immensely.

Apparently independent of this some archaeologists discover a cave painting on the Isle of Skye which finally allows an 'Ancient Aliens' theory to be investigated as to the origins of life on Earth...well certainly humanity.

A top class science vessel, the Prometheus, is launched and mankind's first investigation of other lifeforms begins...


...200 or so years later space travel is common, an old junk yard mining ship named Nostromo is returning to Earth with its haul when all of a sudden an alert wakes the crew from their sleep. Ash had been placed onboard prior to their launch in lieu of their usual doctor.





Now whether the facehugger, chestburster or any other known xenomorph characteristics appear in the film I don't know. Apparently there is something of the 'Space Jockeys' to the tale - but whether it's the same one we see in Alien or not is unclear. There's allegedly a sequel already in the works for Prometheus and so it may run its own course independent of the Alien films with a different 'monster'.

It's my understanding that the "monster" they encounter are the same that have been seen at the start of the Alien movie, dead, in that vessel they were exploring. So it clearly sets a link in time and space with the Aliens movies. There's some hints in the trailer that aliens might make their appearance, but it seems fair to say that if they do, they'll be more of a side story than actual meat.
