Well, bridges are not literally falling apart every day or even every month, but our roads and bridges do need important work so they don't fall down in the future. Actually, if you are considering moving to Montreal, consider living close to a metro or suburb train station on the South Shore, or living on the island itself, since major roadwork will start in the next few years and last for a good 10+ years as it is.IGNs: Flower Lyssa (Me and GWAMM), Blue Lily (R), Bebe Nathan (Rt)

Everytime I crossed the boarder to Quebec (when I used to go to Montreal semi often) it was literally a line you felt. Bam the pavement went all to hell at the boarder. It was really weird. Then the Big O started dropping bits and pieces and then other stuff started falling apart. The roads over here are pretty awful now to. I might as well be playing a Mario Kart game, dodging potholes. It's silly.

Agreed with Giggles. Crossing the border makes a difference.
Afaik it's due to politicians deciding to skimp on roads a while back in Quebec, and now we ended up with roads that don't survive winters as well. The solution is to redo all the work, which of course would be quite expensive.
