Probably. It's still World of Warcraft though. Guild Wars would have been way cooler. :D

Have you even played WoW? Don't be an ignorant hater just because it's the "cool" thing to do. I used to be like that and then I actually played the game.

Turns out the pve is way ****ing better than gw1 can ever dream of.

Ehh... It's relative. Not everybody wants what WoW offers.

People would rather fight mindless AI with no challenge other than difficult heroic dungeons and raids?

    Well.

Actually yeah, given gw's playerbase, that does sound about right.

Some of us that have played full-on MMOs before don't want everything that comes along with that. I loved my time spent in Asheron's Call, but I wouldn't do it again if I had the chance. (/age=fail, and just like real life, you can't take it with you when you die...or quit) No matter what Blizzard has done to the recipe (which I've tasted), I still don't want it. It's not just WoW, though. I just can't stomach the thought of spending so much time in a single online world again, and I also refuse to be someone who bounces from one MMO lifetime to another. Skyrim's a world, but I can pick it up as I please, no commitments to guilds or awkward "Sorry, [real person], I can't really walk away from this raid" moments.

At this point in my life, the more contained and compartmentalized my gaming experiences are, the better. (i.e., more real life commitments = desire for fewer online entanglements) So, yeah. That sounds about right for me.

Plus, arguing MMO player bases is not a winning argument.

I didn't really like WoW that much because it was too similar to what I had been playing for years in Everquest 2. So I left WoW after not playing it for too long. My friend started playing it and I tried to get back into it, but it was too similar to what I had grown tired of in EQ2.
Then I began to hate WoW because it's success made it hard to find mmorpgs willing to break away from what people think an mmorpg has to be to be good.
Not WoW's fault, but it is easier to blame the game then blame every halfwit wanting to make a WoW clone.

I'm saying all this because I am bored.
