What the heck is LinkedIn, and how dumb do phishers think I am?
Six emails today, all telling me I have <insert random number> of messages, and all with bogus links. You would think that people would quit falling for this **** eventually.

LinkedIn is basically Facebook for grown ups. It's a professional networking service. You make a profile and "connect" with people you have worked with (either as clients, partners, co-workers, whatever). It's basically a digital resume and people can "recommend" you. I have held out against getting one for over five years at this point, but I sense that I will need one at some point... I've already been told many times that I should have one. Then I'd have to go through all my contacts from my agency days and reconnect with those people blah blah blah.
Based on the research I've done this morning, 80% of people think they do not buy products because of advertising. I kind of feel like people give themselves way too much credit.

I buy products because of advertising. Make an advert which is memorable and bold and I'll happily sucker up to that brand.
That said, there are tons of brands on my blacklist for being boring and bland. They''ll have to work twice as hard to get back onto my shopping list.
Annoying is a difficult one for me, there's an advert on Latin American TV just now for a broadband service which uses the default Skype messaging noise often within it to convey...social contact I suppose. Firstly I reckon they're taking liberties with fair use and secondly (segunda) it's annoying as hell. Glad I'm not with them.

Today show -- instead of having a moment of silence as other stations on 9/11 - had Kim Kardashian's mom talk about her daughters implants instead. Fail...lulz...
