Maybe he connected on and off, like reconnect for a few seconds to a new map, not being able to move, disconnecting again?

Yes you can.

My computer has some kind of issue with guildwars.
It seems to have to do with the graphics driver crashing or whatever.

What it ends up with is the entire computer crashing.
I can force a reboot and if I enter gw again right away I will retain the ability to reconnect.
I don't know for how long the game keeps the information allowing you to reconnect, but I've tried being out of a match for around 8 mins and still reconnecting.

In reality it has nothing to do with a DC. The game just counts cutting off contact with the servers this suddenly as if it was.

I won't complain.
