what is the point of abing anymore? with the recent update to jade quarry and fort aspenwood it is a lot faster and rewarding than going to alliance battle.
sure the player may be able to get more points in AB when they are on the extreme end of the either side, but what are the odds of that happening? there is really no point in fighting when luxon continues to mob and the kurzick continue to try and fight off the mob.
that is what is still appalling to me. after so many months, you would think people would learn not to fight the luxon mob, or not to mob at all. i was on the extreme end of ab and lost badly and got 600 points for my trouble. that's only 3 jade shards in jade quarry. jade quarry is going to get very popular while ab, in theory should be going down the tube without a big update to make it worth the time.
so what are your thoughts?
p.s okay i'll admit i basically was on playing kurzick throughout the day and i kept losing 1 battle after another. don't believe i won a single match today.
Because rolling scrubs is fun.
I figured I need a signature, and why not a fight club quote:
It's only after we've lost everything that we're free to do anything.
The only reason right now is that in ab you get to kill bad players instead of running around killing npc's and watch a stupid amont of boring builds like bombers run around.
but if the result only gets you 600 factions, why bother? if you want to kill bad players, go RA

In RA there are syncers, that's the problem.
But yes, I think rewards are too low.
Some AB'ers like other kind of PvP that earns them faction. Nothing wrong with that. I found the amount of AB players small anyways at times I went there. Having 25 counter restarts is just too much and I refuse to go there again.
Several games I tried lately had long loading times for online play and it really is a big minus when you have to wait more than 5 minutes for a game to start.
Edit: On the official wiki someone proposed a 20 vs 20 battle system on new maps and Linsey replied to that with:
::Large scale battles are extremely difficult to implement. Not only that but there are already a lot of PvP game types, I'm afraid adding another one will only serve to further splinter the game population. Not only that, but I think at this point in the games life cycle it will be extremely difficult to achieve the critical mass needed for a 20v20 game type. - Linsey talk 00:29, 31 December 2008 (UTC)

The problem lies in the fact that something is going very wrong if you only recieve ~600 faction a match.
That might be the main issue you have with finding AB boring.
For the epic battles; duh.
I just done with a 2 hour session of AB'ing. One match where our group of four steamrolled a mob. I kid you not, steamrolled.
We were at our shrine and we baited them to it. With the help of the shrine, we got our GOREDENGINEGOREDENGINEGO on. We honestly just wanted to slow them down but they absolutely crumbled. By the end of the brief match, all of us were like, "Oh my God, what just happened? CHARGE!"
Oh yeah, and we won the match too.
That was only one match, I had more somewhat like that. Overall, a good day in Guild Wars.
Pretty epic.
