Minion Bomber/Death Nova question

Since I'm fairly new to minion bombing, I have a question as to how Death Nova works.

Is it one of those things where you cast it onto yourself and then it trickles on down to your minions, or do you have to cast it on each and every one of your minions... and if that's the case, is there a quick and dirty way of doing it, or is point/click the only way?

Each target separately, and no, have to click each minion. I wouldn't take Death nova on a human MM due to this reason alone, but I guess if you really need the extra bomb damage...
