Friends server issues

I keep getting logged out by the friends server while playing (often during rezoning). Hitting 'N' brings up a button to log on again re-entering the login password. Makes me appear offline- mildly irritating. I can still play while this is going on, it doesn't log me out of the game. Has anyone come across this issue and is there an easy remedy?

I think it's just vaguely lag related and it might fix itself. My contact list did the same for a while too, but has stopped for the time being.

I have run across the issue before, but I have no remedy -- the problem is typically on ArenaNet's end (or somewhere in between). Given that there was some server maintenance today (see this thread (among other places where it was mentioned)) it doesn't surprise me that you're having issues with the friends server.

How long has this issue been happening for you?

happened to me once i was offline but still playing yet i could see my alliance chatting but i couldn't chat till i re logged in
