I'm tired....
I woke up at 2, couldn't figure out why until I looked at my alarm clock... Which was off. Which also explained why I had woken up, as everything was off. It was quiet... Very quiet... Which meant I didn't sleep well anymore after that (I kept wondering if the power would go on again... We do have a very large freezer stuffed with fruit, meat, veggies, other foods and paint brushes...)
When we got up this morning at 6, we still didn't have power, so, no hot shower, no hot tea (at least we do have a gas heater and a lot of candles, so we did have warmth and light)... Apparently, 4 houses down the road, there was a power cable crackling and it was broken somewhere. But as all power lines here are in the ground, it might take some time before they find it...
I'm tired...

No, they can actually find where a cable is broken underground quite fast. Hope you have power restored soon. That waiting and worrying is always bad.

They had to wait for a car which is equiped for that searching. And who knows what damage has been done? The neighbour said the first problems started at 23:00 yesterday, and we lost power at around 02:00...
And why the paint brushes in the freezer? They keep better that way. They won't dry out and as our paint is not water based, they won't freeze either. They only get stiff with the cold, but when you start painting with them, they get warm and supple again. We've brushes in there that we used a year ago, and are still useable (and it saves terpentine and the environment).
And we're not all so lazy that we stay at home!
