Depends on:
- how serious the relationship is
- her opinion on Valentine's Day
- what would make her happy (some like chocolate and flowers, some like massage, some like dinner at home, some at the restaurant...)
One thing is certain: if you're doing something that depends on external suppliers (restaurant, flowers, etc.), you should reserve before the 12th, before the 7th is even better.
Now you've reminded me that Valentine's Day is coming and I need to think if I want to do something special for husband and I....

We don't "do" valentine... I find it too commercial. And I'm not a romantic at all.

I too find it too commercial. The irony that my ex left me on that special occasion.
But that is past, and my gf is certainly deserving of something special.
