Having gotten more into playing a hybrid build I often take Aegis and Guardian on my bar. I've read comments that Guardian is redundant if you have Aegis, but I like having Guardian to toss around while Aegis is recharging.
I'm just wondering about something... often a party member gets focused on by monsters and even under Aegis the health bar starts to go down quicker than I like, so I'll put Guardian on them even while Aegis is up. I've been thinking that the chance to block is calculated for both separately giving better protection. It seems too, but I'm wondering if that's actually the case.

Multiplicity stacking, up to a hard cap of like... 90 percent I think?
Is there even a hard cap?
Sometimes, it sure doesn't feel like it.
But yes, as pointed out, they stack, but obviously not additively.
You multiply the chances with each other.
But really, there's no reason to do so, you only need to know that it's far enough of a chance with two block skills on you.
Ok, that's good to know. Thank you.
I assume the same thing would be true for party members standing in a Ward Against Melee if they were getting ganked (raptors come to mind).

Anything which adds a block percentage is the exact same.
This is actually very simple compared to the old days of evasion/blocking.
Yah, you stand in a ward vs melee, with aegis up. you get 2 x 50% chance rolls to block. Thats it yeah?
Blocking stacks.

That article is part of the source for the wiki page on this. There's another article or two that it references, so the wiki page has a little more info than Yue's link does (I think, I read all this stuff several months ago and did not reread to be sure I remembered right).

If you search on stacking, it takes you to a disambiguation page, the above link is one of the choices.
They stack, but not by addition. It is the chances of enemies hitting you multiplied.
