SyFy doesn't play nice with Hulu when it comes to their prime time original series. That's part of why I didn't "officially" watch SGU. New eps didn't surface until weeks after they aired.
I think SGU s2 will air on the normal Winter/Spring schedule. So, probably late January or early Feb.
A sword might be grateful to the forge fire, but never fond of it.
So, just watched the cape ep1 and Being Human US ep1.
Being Human: the UK version was interesting and original, the US version is crap. As in just another boring vampire/supernatural things show. I don't know why they tried to make a US version anyway instead of just airing the UK one in america?
The Cape: mostly watching because it has summer glau, the first ep isn't bad but not all that interesting either, hoping it will do some more to distinguish itslef from just another scifi show (seriously, evil corporation privatising police force, honest cop being framed and turning into superhero, how hard is it to think of something original?)
So yeah, I'm gonna watch for news about non-US shows a bit more, seems like I missed some good stuff (like Misfits).
edit: just did some ctrl+f on this thread and nobody mentioned Misfits before me, I'm very disappointed. Anyway, watch it, it's awesome (and so is the original Being Human).

@ Ringsgold I don't think I've ever seen a US remake of a film / TV show that wasn't badly done.
But I liked the North American premier of Being Human.
I hope it does well. After SG:U's cancellation was announced, I have lost all motivation in life. I need my stories! lol
Finally got around to watching the first season ("Blood and Sand"), and yes, it's far too lurid for family consumption - but then, so was reality. I actually enjoyed it, what with John Hannah and Lucy Lawless. I suspect it was billed as, "300 vs. The Borgias!"
Seems like the end of "Blood and Sand" was actually the start of the historical tale, but the lead had recurring cancer and so there will be a replacement.
I never got into Spartacus. I always felt the effects looked really cheap, like every scene was shot in front of a green screen, and filled with After Effects blood splatters. There would be battles with blood flying all over the place from unscratched faces. I also felt it was too much of a sausage fest. Too many oiled up men wrestling each other... sorry, it just felt like I wasn't the target audience, despite a good bit of female nudity to make up for it.
The blood was undeniably cartoon-ish.
Obvious lines from Airplane! aside, I noticed significantly more female naughty bits than male - maybe it was just me?![]()
I'm not saying that there wasn't plenty of boobage. But there were just too many oiled up sweaty men wrestling each other in arenas. It had a very strong gayish vibe.
I don't know, but it always bothered me to no end. I couldn't watch it. Even though I loved Gladiator.
