PS: I hope the lance & shield warriors at the Daenerys section will not be the Unsullied. Those HAVE to look more impressive!

Yup, it sure looks like the scene from the book we are all looking forward to. But yeah, if those are the Unsullied, color me unimpressed. I was expecting the Unsullied to look way more middle-eastern, with a black or slightly Egyptian look. And it seems we also got a glimpse of Renly's scene, but I could be mistaken. I could also clearly see the burning of the god statues by Melisandre, like in the previous trailer. And we get a good view of the bay of King's Landing, although I don't see any of the towers yet that guard it. They also show the riot in King's Landing, which is what Tyrion refers to with his voice over it seems. And Joffrey with his new crossbow. No doubt we'll see him sniping a few peasants with it. They definately got the look right of some of the slave traders and noble men in the east. So looking forward to this.

This is really amazing. Of course a great deal of the second book takes place in the far north. I remember Jon Snow and his fellowship having to go through quite a lot in the freezing cold, and Sam nearly freezes to death. Just looking at the video, I think I perhaps caught sight of a few memorable places in the book, but we'll have to wait and see.

This is great to see BTW. This is exactly what I experienced when playing an extra. When you are part of the extras on a movie that has tons of extras, they have to label every costume for every extra, and take pictures to make sure that both the fitting of the costume, and the make up, looks the same the next day of shooting. Hours of shooting are long. I really do not envy the main actors in this regard. You easily spend the whole day shooting, from the very early morning, till late into the evening. And often not under comfortable weather conditions. Rain, blistering sun, cold and heat. Those things do not help the acting, when you constantly have to endure them for long pauses in between takes. Extras and actors alike often have to wait and stay their place while waiting for the next shot. Playing an extra is not easy. But it IS a lot of fun, and most people who play extras are an equal amount of fun. Even if you have to wait for hours just standing in place in a heavy costume, with no guarantee of actually being on screen. The extras around you simply are a great bunch of people, and they will find a way to make that wait enjoyable.

Oh, I wish I was an extra on Game of Thrones.

Unsullied don't pop up until the 3rd book so most likely not. Of note, down to about 150 pages to read in it.


The first 10 episodes covered about 65 pages a episode. I really hope they do much the same as the series goes on, otherwise a whole lot could get chopped. That would mean more than 10 episodes a season, or seasons that roll over the end of one book into the next. It would also limit some of the great dialogue that was added for TV like the banter between Little Fingers and Varys.

Some people brought up that perhaps they will include parts of Clash of Kings, since Dany has a rather small role in book 2. There is often a bit of overlap. Clash of Kings has many events that on the time line happen at the same time as some of the events in book 2.

There's a little more of what will no doubt be Mellisandre's most memorable scene. They also show Aegon's table in the shape of Westeros, I'm so glad they included that detail! And of course, Wildfire, the Battle for Blackwater bay, Stannis with his his burning sword, and Brienne drawing her sword for what is of course another very memorable scene from the book. I am so excited about this. Now I hope they will also include Daenerys' encounter with the wizards of Ashai.
