Finished Season 2 of Rome. Meh. Not quite as good as Season 1. Focused a bit too much on unimportant bits and Antony's Egypt bits. But it ended surprisingly upbeat.

Does anyone have the latest Blu-ray of the movie Stargate? I have the first Blu-ray which sucked beyond belief. The quality was like they took a VHS copy and transferred it to a BD and said, "Here, it's now on Blu-ray." I've seen reviews that the latest is a really good product, but I am a bit leery to buy it.

Machete - Jessa Alba has a spectacular butt, and asian gals look amazing in leopard bikinis.
Beyond that, the movie turned out to be disappointing. Danny Trejo is awesome and all that. And when the movie is just being a bloody action flick, its a lot of fun.
Unfortunately Robert Rodriguez starts with the sociopolitical rhetoric right off the bat, and only ramps it up as the movie goes on. - The last 40-45 mins are just stupid. The movie drops everything to focus on the Illegals vs Rednecks, via a long boring battle with no-name extras, bouncing cars, stereotypes, and so on. Just bleh.

Yes, the first BD release was a really sloppy transfer. Many complaints were made asking why did the company bother releasing it. The new anniversary edition gets rave reviews.

I am going to rent Buried tonight from Amazon Video. Unlike Netflix, Amazon has higher HD resolution and 5.1 sound. It is $5, but that is half of what one theater ticket would cost. Was wondering if anyone has ever used the Amazon VOD and what the impression of it was?

I did enjoy this film though - not as difficult to understand as reported I agree,
The Other Guys - I liked this. Much, much funnier than crap like Cop Out. There were a few tired jokes, but overall it was funny.
