I've just picked up the Blu-ray versions of Young Guns, Stargate: Ultimate Edition (the second non-pants Blu-ray release) and, err, Woochi the Demon Slayer on the cheap today. Which has added to the ever-increasing "Unwatched" box that's piling up in a little corner of my room.
One day, I'll just put aside a couple of weekends to marathon right through them all, maybe.![]()

I see that version of Stargate as a regular DVD. I bought the worthless Blu-ray version Stargate Extended Cut. The 15th anniversary Blu-ray is supposed to be stunning. I want it!
Since the sequel Tron is coming out, my wife and I decided to watch the first movie. I remarked to her that it hadn't even been on for 5 minutes (almost 5) and we were completely clueless as to what was going on. We stopped it and decided maybe we won't want to watch the sequel.
It was fun at least to see Jeff Bridges using that Apple computer with what seemed to be a 5.25" drive and the really ancient modem that had to have the phone handle connected to it. They showed the responses as instant, but that was probably a 600 baud or less modem and he might have been able to go check the fridge while awaiting the response.
Tonight we are finishing I Am Four. It so far has been neither really good nor bad, so we hope the second half will have more excitement.

Watched a gem of a movie last night called Interstate 60. Very funny and was really surprised by all of the well-known actors in it.![]()

You just need to put your mind into another state is all. It's a cute little premise: what if programs are sentient and do their little things inside the computer in their own little virtual world? Conflicts would be resolved by battles and tanks would represent your program's resistance to being attacked.
OK, it may help to be a little drunk.
I watched Transformers 2 again last night, this time with my 12yo. I had mostly forgotten the movie, and was reminded what a horrible waste of 2.5 hours it is (again). My son loved it though, and was able to name every Autobot and Decepticon. I guess if nothing else, the filmmakers knew their intended audience. Now my son wants to go see Transformers 3 in the theater. Blech, don't think I want to drop cash to see that.

12 yr old should be able to appreciate Megan Fox, too.

Thing is, that wouldn't have made all that good a film now, would it?
Tron's pure science fantasy. Accept that and get past the slow starts of either films and they're brilliant.
I finally got around to watching Game of Thrones in its entirety, barring a minor Sky+ hiccup. Some good stuff, though I was watching the latter part of the series wishing someone would bash Joffrey's head off the Iron Throne a few hundred times. And tell Sansa to get a clue. x_X![]()

Tron Legacy - Fun to watch. Main guy wasn't too annoying. The real treat was watching Jeff Bridges in a near Dude-like performance. I really liked the Sky train bit. We need virtual reality so we can have that! Uh. Anyway. I liked the girl a lot too. I'd rescue her any time.
Battle Los Angeles - I liked this more than i thought I would. I went in with really low expectations. Stylistic it felt more realistic than the usual fair. But once again, the USAF is treated as a complete joke. Oh well, its a marine movie.
I read some reviews after watching it, and I'm more convinced than ever that Film (and game) critics need to go die in a fire. It isn't some profound movie by any means, but I'll take it over the likes of Independence Day or District 9 simply because it isn't trying to ram some moral message down my throat.

Watched Insidious last night. I'm starting to think PG13 movies are better than R rated as the PG13 movie relies on good old suspense and scares instead of blood & guts, T&A, and gore. Was disappointed with the ending, but still liked it.

Hey, hey, hey! Nothing wrong with T&A.
I wanted to see Insidious but it was all checked out. Maybe I should look into this netflix thing the kids are talking about.

Problem with Netflix is you might have a long wait for the DVD and an extremely long wait for it on streaming, if it gets to be available for it. Now, Vudu and CinemaNow seem to have new releases even before Amazon and long before Netflix, but then you pay per movie.
