Ooh ooh what if we're the only class that can equip a sword AND pistol AT THE SAME TIME like XA's pic? Shink shink pew pew shink pew shink pew
Mesmers get no weapons, they get Illusionary Weaponry, able to conjure all different weapons as they please/unlocked.

I honestly don't remember the exact quote, and whether there specified if there was one and only one class that could use guns but not bows. A bow seems ridiculous for a mesmer.
I threw in that little caveat because I really don't like the idea of mesmers with daggers....but I like the idea of dual-wielding swords even less.Originally Posted by Akirai
Maybe if you could do pistol and sword main or offhand, but not equip both at the same time?
Unless I'm missing something in what you're saying, you can do that with the thief.Originally Posted by RDarken

"Engineer" - Rifle, Hammer, perhaps both Bows (e.g. to lay down "minefields" or "smoke cover" & because the bow isn't represented a lot yet); Mace, Axe and Pistol (not sure in which main/off-hand combo); Torch perhaps Shield ("Build Barricade")
The weapons should be very much usable "as tools", like "building a trap", "taking down a structure". I am not sure if that is enough for an Engineer as a class, but we will see.
"Mesmer" - Staff (I can't really see any other two-handed weapon in the hands of a Mesmer), Pistol, Sword, Scepter; Dagger, perhaps only as off-hand; Focus
With Sword & Pistol I think a lot about "Illusionary Weapon" as well ("Deceiving Shot", "Engarde", "Riposte")

Professions
Not to be confused with tradeskills because if I mention that word Ill get shot, a profession is sorta like a job or a hobby which you can spend time on and hopefully earn a profit from it. Im looking for some inspiration here, as I dont have many ideas, but if it gets implemented you will get to choose 1 profession at the beginning of the game, and as you gain experience your skill in that profession grows also.
Idea 1: Artist
Description: An artist paints pictures, images, and basically uses his imagination and talent to create his masterpieces. Skilled artists are able to sell their paintings for a nice profit, and some even become famous for their work.
Prerequisites: Artist feat.
Mechanics: When an artist attempts to paint his work of art, he must first purchase the raw materials. He must then spend a considerable amount of time and effort on this painting to ensure it is done to the best of his ability. Im thinking a check of 1d20 Level INT WIS CHA modifiers to determine the final quality of the painting. When the painting is finished, the artist can try to sell his masterpiece to an art collector, and hopefully earn himself a tidy profit. The higher the artists skill, the more he will manage to sell his work for.
Suggestions for other professions are very much welcome.

Sorry JoigmaImittee, you might be new to Guild Wars, so I'll clarify for you.
A profession in Guild Wars is much like a Class in other RPGs. So... Warrior, Necromancer, Ranger... those are professions.
Stuff like gathering and crafting, that's different.

You're thinking in D&D terms; Guild wars is a whole different ball of wax. No feats or d20s, and the attributes are a completely different setup. Although Crafting could very well end up being called "trade skills" (no idea why you think you'd be shot for that...).

The GW2 crafting disciplines, however, are geared towards making items useful to the crafter himself as well as other players.
If I understand the description, the artist does not actually create a work that he (or any other player) can see or use or admire. The invisible painting has a quality that is determined by some dice roll rather than the player's own artistic talent, and it is sold to some NPC who determines what reward it is worth. Is this correct? If so, I have a hard time seeing the point, or understanding why anyone would enjoy doing this.

It doesn't mean we should discard the idea just yet. Artists could be used to make inks, or even decorate armors and weapons. That is, they could take a weapon that has a look that is not very desired, and change it to have a look that more people want... therefore increasing its value without creating something new.
His ability to affect any type of equipment would be balanced by his inability to create something new. He'd always have to start with an item that has the desired statistics, which he can find or buy. He could even paint items on demand from buyers.
It'd also increase the demand for crafts from other crafting professions, as ugly but useful items would be in higher demand.
