    I've been all over the place, but I'm back to human mesmer and norn ranger as my favs. I've tried 3 different champions, but as I feared, I just don't like 'em (I've never liked paladins and they seem very similar, at least at the low levels). Necro didn't click, nor did ele (although I may go back to the necro since I loved it in GW1). Ran out of slots before I could try a thief, so come payday, it may be slot buying time...

    If by champion you mean guardian, perhaps try out the ranged weapons if you haven't yet. Scepter/torch or staff. Those kinds of guardians don't give out the big dumb paladin vibe as much.

    Doh! Don't know why I said champion (probably the same reason I keep calling it "Queensland").

    I'll have to get that a shot. I really enjoy playing support but with healers gone, I'm sure sure how to best do that.

    Guardian has a number of healing skills. Off the top of my head, mace #2 heals every 3rd hit (not just you, but nearby allies too), staff #2 can be detonated to heal, torch #5 I believe removes conditions from allies as well as deal damage, shield #5 creates a bubble that pushes foes back which is nice to protect them. There are many more examples of that if you include skill slots 6-0.

    I like that guardian plays more like warrior with greatsword and sword, but more like support with staff... and many skills can be used either way. Staff is growing on me since I noticed I can use #3 as a speed buff... it's a nice traveling weapon.

    Sword + torch is quite fun now, because you can damage stuff in a line with skills #3 and #5, so positioning is key to hitting multiple opponents. The teleport is a teleport rather than a jump. The damage is great, comparable to greatsword I'd say.

    Looking back at my guesses...pretty much on. I made a

    Human Warrior
    Human Mez
    Norn Guardian
    Plant Elly
    (reserved the name) for a potential Ranger...

    I was going to make a Plant Thief or Norn Ranger but my names were taken...20 min into pree-launch.

    Got some right, some I was off.

    I ended up with:
    Charr Guardian (instead of sylvari)
    Norn Mesmer - was not in the original lineup, but since I added it it was pretty stable.
    Human Engineer (?) - Yes!!! Despite changing that one around a lot.
    Charr Necro (instead of norn), this one was was stable when I added the mesmer
    Sylvari Elementalist - started as Charr, but also changed a lot
    Asura Ranger - Yes!!! This one has been very stable.

    Ranks are similar.
