This thread is now a Classic Simpsons thread.
No Simpsons-with-lolsorandom-ripoff-ripoff.
I'll allow Futurama too.
Good thread destroyed by yellow man. I am disappoint.
I'm definitely getting D3 on release. Considering the amount of fun I had in D2, it'd feel all kinds of wrong not to.
(Also, seems beta is close)

So you're not getting gw2 either, because of how ArenaNet like, totally sold out man, and they put microtransactions in gw1! Their slimy business practices of totally trying to make a profit are like, so far out.. We should totally boycott them and stick it to the MAN, man..
Hey, whatever though. Your loss. I'd rather judge each game on its own merit. If Valve released GLaDOS Magic Hair Styler with microtransactions to unlock special haircuts, I probably wouldn't buy it. But it would be insane to boycott every other game they release after that because one game that wasn't your thing got your panties in a bunch.
Yeah... I don't think I'm the one here with my panties in a bunch lol
ANet does a lot of things I don't agree with, but they also do a lot of things I do agree with. I can't say the same for Blizzard in the last decade... I mean, before SC2, they made one game in the last seven years.
Maybe you see the ANet store as "selling out" and "slimy," but I don't. I get that you were being sarcastic, but please don't assign feelings to me. I actually liked the in-game store when it came out because of all the hours I played GW for free. Heck, I've even bought stuff from it that I didn't really want just to give them some money. (Though, I refused to buy any character slots or Xunlai panes because they didn't give us any with EotN. Again, voting with my wallet.)
Furthermore, I would hardly call not playing a game a real loss since I only really have time for one game at a time, anyway, and also they are video games and therefore not important.
I heard Blizzard is doing their own ARG and that Diablo III will release sooner for every minute we argue about it.
A sword might be grateful to the forge fire, but never fond of it.
For my part, I'll be watching to see if Blizzard is as uncaring about security as they proved to be with Diablo and Diablo II. The cracking, duping, and botting was so pervasive that there was pretty much no enjoyment left for me; they continued to allow one-shot kill exploits to rule PvP while "cracking down" hard on mediocre capabilities (I still have my Thorns/Conversion Paladin as a mule).

I get games on release if I plan to play them online. I think most of my D3 gaming will be offline. Dungeon crawling is more of a solo thing. Depending how busy I am, I might get D3 off the bargain bin.
Portal 2 being the exception, because I'd like to play it with someone, but probably someone I know. Maybe I can trick my gf to play it. I'll tell her it's a puzzle game.

My concern as well. About six months ago I made a new account in D2 just for the heck of it, since there's some newer (relatively speaking) content...torches, keys and Uber Tristram or whatever it's called, can't remember. After a few weeks I gave it up because I couldn't get away from the pervasive whispers, bots and the fact that you can buy anything you want for a few cents from online traders. Everyone is overpowered now.
Hopefully security will be a much bigger priority with D3. But good security measures cost money to run, and that gets translated to the consumer somehow. We'll see.

Obvious name: ARGue. They can give ue the words "user experience". I don't really know what an ARG is, first encounter was with Portal 2. Also, I don't remember what it stands for, because I read it only once at some place or something. Now I'm just extending this post for no good reason, to see if anyone actually reads them.
