So this has been one HECK of a day! This morning around 12am, Alora started vomiting and having diarrhea with potential "leakage" from her womb.
We went into the hospital, they ran some tests, determined that she was really dehydrated, and needed to stay overnight. Earlier today, after Alora had an Ultrasound, they determined her embryonic fluid was at about 5% and that this posed a serious risk to the baby if it accidentally rolled over onto its cord.
Due to this fact, and because a premature birth might happen, they have started given Alora a steroid shot to help the babies lungs mature, and a blood thinner shot every 8 hours so there are more options around the time of delivery.
So, it's been one crazy and stressful day o_o;;

Sorry to hear about your bad time there - great that she's in hospital though and receiving care. Fingers crossed for you and your family!

Alora is at 32 weeks, due July 4th. The doctors and nurses are suspecting that the baby will most likely be born before then.

Thanks =)
Yikes sorry to hear this!
Lots of kids are born early, so I wouldn't sweat it. Even if the kid has to be born in the next couple of weeks, s/he still has a really good chance of being totally fine. I know someone whose son was born something like three months early and the kid is fine. He's had to work with a developmental therapist (since he's essentially -3 months from other kids his age), but that difference gets smaller as the kid gets older.

Sorry to hear that as well. Hang in there and take care of yourselves. Premature birth is never the scenario you are working with (well, except for triplets and above), but 32 weeks isn't that bad. The longer the baby can safely stay in there, the better, obviously, but really, there's worse.
As a data point, my cousins were born at 27 weeks (twin-to-twin transfusion syndrome) and, though the first 5 years of their lives were stressful for their parents because of the developmental delays fears, they turned out just fine and will start university this fall.
at 32 weeks they are ok to be born---so any time now!
Good luck with that (and give you lady a great big hug from us for going thru all of this).
Thanks everyone :D
The doctors are still monitoring my fiance', Alora, but she's doing fine. She's going to have an ultrasound tomorrow to determine if she can go home for a while or must stay even longer in the hospital. I'm not sure what the scenario is, but I've heard that after a certain date, they will induce her into labor so that she has the baby. It will most likely be before the July 4th due date.
I'm nervous, but I know everything will be okay :D
