No, not with armor plating. With a long leather coat, a rifle, and grenades.

If I remember from past threads, I think Alaris is referring to the weapon spells that a guardian gets (yeah, I think it's a bit of a stretch). The guardian will get one aspect of the rit that was never used a ton, and have that aspect changed to be cool. Meanwhile the engineer will get the main aspect of the rit that everyone used all the time (except maybe during the time when spirits were at their weakest).

FYI I didn't really get into the whole "weapon spells came from rits" because the name is the only similarity. Engineer is the new rit.
