Eh, disagree that LotRO is WoW clone-y. LotRO is like WAR - Rather, WAR is like LotRO.

Really! To me they are nothing alike whatsoever, apart from LotRo put me to sleep for a good 12 hours (seriously, one of the first tasks I had was to kill bear or Lion cubs). On the other hand WAR, after a very brief starter area (you can ignore this though), dives right into the RVR lakes for some great PVP.

Conan is cool. I download 8 gigs and I started making a character and the authentication server crapped out. That's after it being down for "maintenance" for all day yesterday. Cool stuff. Lots and lots of restrictions on what classes I can play to. Can only play 3 of the 4 races to which makes me sad.

In other news, Hellgate is now in open beta. I finally downloaded the game, I'll give it a try... finally.

Well, okay, yeah, you're right. WAR definitely does get you into PvP / RvR right away. I don't really like PvP, though, so I don't miss that part of the game. I meant that they are similar in PvE (with the exception of Public Quests).

I tried that Black Prophecy open beta because I'm starving for a decent space dogfight, not so much because it's an MMO. The introduction area is kind of confusing. For some reason, I had to replay this one turret defense sequence twice.

It sure is pretty, though. Whether I continue to mess around with it or not will depend on how much the MMO part actually gets in the way of having space-y fun.
