so then ...no, I dont care...most of my family and I use the old land line telephone to contact each other --and half of my family doesnt even HAVE a computer...yeah, my mom is 83 and has no need of such a thing, my sister insists that she has to use a computer at work--why in the h*!! would she want to then use one when she gets home????, etc....my friend out west gets FREE long distance --so we use that to contact each other.

I talk to the people I actually know in person. Forums are for testing new ways to make people look bad in arguments.

The people I know online are from forums. Why do I need a 3rd party website? I can see something being useful for keeping in touch when you move long distances- though as you slowly lose common ground I'm skeptical that it remains effective- but as a general thing I just don't see the benefit.Originally Posted by shawn

edit: @David, you don't need a social network just like you don't need the forums. Humans do a lot of things they don't need to do. It's just nice.
As a side note, I like broadcasting my every little silly thought to my friends, who may or may not care about it and can choose to ignore if they feel so inclined. (I kind of do that here in gwo too >_> i'm sure there's tons of people who don't give two cents about the fact that i baked cupcakes today, but it doesn't matter because i'm telling you anyway! (chai cinammon fyi... they weren't my best, but still pretty darn tastey))

Honestly, forum-ites and gamer friends are the smallest fraction of my FB friends list. It's much more practical for people you actually know.*
*Though there are probably 50 people on there that I've met and barely seen since, and that's with me being picky about who I add.
A sword might be grateful to the forge fire, but never fond of it.
The Circles sound like a good idea (compared to the way FB is handling the Friends). No way I will sell my soul to Google for that feature, though.
I think I can live without social networks.

Animated gifs on Google+ >_<
That's one of the reasons I liked facebook... no animated gifs. So you cant wake up with your profile full of these from friend's comments http://www.glitter-graphics.com/gall...?categoryID=45
