I've imported a lot of old code. I have the weapons working, although no collision detection yet. I have movement, but no interaction with walls (i.e. you float through them). I have particles added for stuff like weather effect. I have characters added with all the races, mostly stick figures. And I have a basic clunky interface.
And I haven't spent much time yet...
I think my next big project is to unstickify the characters, to clean up some of the code, and then to add all types of collision detection.

There are definitely weapons, and there will be non-weapon skills too.
There may or may not be mesmers in the game.

Dumb time function is dumb. For some reason, timeGetTime () seems to give me really small values when a lot of stuff is happening. And not gradually either... it goes up slowly, then suddenly drops 10x for no reason.
Probably something I mess up, of course, but not sure what.

Google and stackoverflow are your friends =)
Probably gaming.stackexchange.com will be too...
Maybe I can try to help if you show me some code? Tho, I've never done game dev, so I might be useless to you. Still,doesn't hurt to try.

Nah, I capped at 100 shots onscreen atm, so I doubt that's the problem. I'm recycling code from a much older computer, so my main problem now is usually that the game tries to run at too fast a refresh rate for its own good.
Also, I sort of found the error, or at least, I found out what variable is messed up. Hint, it's not timeGetTime ().
As for showing code, there's too much of it to know what to post. I might ask for help for smaller code problems though thanks.

That's what I meant, small snippets of problem code. Sometimes you only need an extra pair of eyes to find the issue.

I wasted 4 hours because instead of writing m[i].length(), I wrote m->length().

Haha I've done similar stuff more times than I can count. And it is the kind of thing that doesn't jump at you when you're frantically looking for the problem.

I really should replace that array with a linked list. It's on my todo list anyway, the difference is that I could have done that instead of fixing the problem, and I would have at the same time fixed the problem.
