Hot joining sounds really great. Just like in PC FPS etc. games. The possibility of finding favorite servers is one of the great things about this.
Finish Them! This gives melee some extra desirability. Now there really is a reason to go bash some heads in close quarters combat.

Sounds like alliance battle, only somewhat more tactical. I hope they will spice things up with maybe capture the flag/guildlord kind of battles..
They try to make PvP accessible for new players, and in the mean time make it cool for hardcore players. It just does not work this way, making too much concessions will make the pvp part of the game boring after a while and/or riddled with noobs.

I sense some Mortal Kombat influence!
I wanna see these finishing moves that take a player from downed to defeated.

I guess that means I'll have to make an elementalist that uses water magic and name it Sub-Zero

I'm sure that name will be reserved for someone that named their character Sub Zero in gw1
ಠ_ಠ that person better make a water ele.

People at guru are freaking out (and when I mean freaking out, I really mean FREAKING OUT) about the possibility of only having a single PvP mode, Conquest, for competitive PvP.
I understand the worries, since people are comparing conquest to alliance battles, but considering how the current GvG is somewhat similar to Conquest (by having a central capture point) I wouldn't be worrying that much.
