Cooking is considered our advanced craft. It will cost you more money, karma, and time traveling the world than any other crafting discipline. Pro Tip: Every cooking recipe in Guild Wars 2 is a real recipe for real food in real life (or a basic approximation). If you think you are close to figuring out one of the combinations, google a recipe for the food you suspect it might be, and odds are, you can find a bunch of recipes for things like that to try out.

I had read that. And I was getting a recipe (or almost) which required one more ingredient. None of my current ingredients worked. So, I typed in google the three I had, and found out I needed lemons. So, now I hope there'll be lemons somewhere...

There's only one problem with this. If I want to make yogurt, I need... yogurt! So, has anyone found some yogurt somewhere?

No, to make yoghurt, you need milk. So, where can we get milk!

(we do have buttermilk, which is a rest product from creating butter...)

I would presume that milk requires cows and milking...

If a recipe doesn't require me to kill something, then I am not interested.

That also applies to in-game recipes.

That's good, because if everybody would go crafting (at all professions), it would be purely for yourself. Now I can craft my stuff and sell it to you so I can keep on crafting

Oh, come on, I bet that some of the more advanced recipies like Sarah's famous ancient applie pie will require ectoplasm or spider blood...

I want to add a little aspect that is quite important in the beginning: All the armour crafting professions can make bags to expand your personal storage capacity.

I first saw that, I thought it was brilliant. Little things like that makes me want to hug ANet.

Also, the bit about there being different uses for bags, I have no idea what that means but if bags have different behaviors like collecting whites or whatever that is also brilliant.

Yeah, I made yute bags, crafting bags and uh. crud. I don't remember. A third kind of bags. The Crafting bags were supposed to automatically pick up crafting materials you found...

    They worked. Sort of.
