^ That's because most MMOs are bad games with seriously, honestly, horrible features.
Portal gun lol... Maybe as an environmental weapon...?
Anyway, another cool thing would be commander mode for WvW. Stolen from the Battlefield games... I think. Anyway, the commander (chosen either randomly, or voted, or I dunno. later problem) would play as a normal participant, but could also bring up a map and plant flags on said map. These flags would appear as actual flags on the battlefield, visible only to that team, and could be used to coordinate tactics etc.
Depending on map, there could also be other effects. Like maybe there's a map set in the mountains and there's a gryphon nest, and if you capture it, your team's commander will have the power to summon a gryphon once per I dunno, five minutes. The gryphon would stay and fight on your side for one minute.
And similar stuff.
In that case, race does not matter, so the standard PvP character could be human. If you want to be another race, you can bring a persistent character.

Wait, racial skills are disabled in PvP? Really? Or is that what you wish?

Portal gun would be chaotic. Fun but oh-so-broken.
I'd like to see more skills who's effect changes depending on what you cast it on. For example, there was this "revive" skill in Undying where you could reanimate corpses to help you. But cast it on an undead skeleton and it bursts in dust. Cast it on a human, and he becomes insane and kills himself... in different ways depending on the human.
It was so much fun to use it on different foes to see if it did something, and then to be highly amused when it did something new.

I'm sure some asura engineer is working on this as we speak. If not, then there will be, about 15 seconds after I get through the asura-engineer character creation.Sadly, there may be some ... miscalculations ... during the development process, resulting in a few unfortunate accidents. Ewww. But I'm sure he'll eventually solve the problems. If Gadd could put a miniature portal generator in a golem-summoning flag, then a capable engineer with 250 years of additional art under his belt should be able to fit one into a gun.
Not gonna happen but.........

Nah, I believe you. This might mean that racial skills are hard to balance ;)

Seconded.
[edit]Say, did this forum always require you to enter at least ten characters? I always thought this is a rather stupid way to force people to fill up their posts with useless stuff like "ten characters" or "123456790", instead of simply being able to say "Yeah" or "seconded". Hm.
I believe that's it. I really don't know why I should continue playing.
Yeah, it's not the only thing that I want to find in all the videos though, and it does not seem as though people are taking out quotes from it (not that I blame them). Btw, anyone know where it was mentioned that you could get enemies/allied npcs (I can't remember which) from one dynamic event to help you fight enemies at another one, as long as they were both in the correct stages? It was an almost offhand comment at gamescom if I recall correctly. Don't kill yourself looking for it (like I did).
As for racial skills being left out of pvp, I think it's more about not wanting to give any bonus whatsoever for any race, although don't ask me how they plan to balance due to the sizes of races.
I seem to remember running into this problem when I first joined the forum and wanted to get my stats higher when I first found out how they worked, before they were originally taken out. While I can understand just commenting to say "I agree", when multiple people are doing it, it's kinda redundant and this system keeps that in check somewhat. Sure some people will do the 1234567890 thing, but more people will actually either not comment, or say something more than just "QFT" or "LOL" which is usually the issue.
