You don't see the asura lab because it is hidden.
No, just kidding, the lab is in a special instance which is accessed by a hidden passage in Talmark Wilderness. The passage will appear once you get to a certain quest.
Escorting Courier Falken is only worth it if you are very short on cash: it is rather difficult and gives only spare change and a handful of supplies (like 500g and 3 supplies in normal mode). On the other hand, money is money, so if you feel like keeping him alive and fighting a few more enemies than usual, go for it.
Thackeray's missions belong to another mini-campaign called Hearts of the North, which is unlocked once you complete War in Kryta.

I'd start gathering the elements for Thackeray's scavenger hunt now if you can. Hard Apple Cider will drop in November (around Thanksgiving) and people regularly sell the rest of the stuff. If you want to collect Sacks of Junk, you should give the "junk" items first and the "correct" item last.
The reason is that Hearts of the North gives 8 medals of honor as a reward (so that'll bring you to the full 10 you need for a weapon if you haven't got them by the end of WiK) and the quests are easy enough once you understand how to synergize your skills with Miko's (see tips here).
I haven't bothered with Falken's escort so far (I find him to be a pain, actually, Leroying all over the place). The hidden asuran lab will be a place you visit during a few quests, but it isn't very lab-like (i.e. it looks more like a very small room with a dead mursaat on a table than anything else).

An oppressor weapon is 10 medals of honor. 1 medal of honor is 25 War Supplies. Wiki says that you'll get 7 medals plus 60 War Supplies by the time you finish WiK, so 9 medals once you convert your War Supplies. You might actually get your oppressor weapon by the end of WiK, if any medal drops from Royal Gifts or you do some Wanted bounties. Otherwise, the first few quests in Hearts of the North will bring you to 10 medals.
How many hours to get to that point? If everything goes well, you should be done under a handful of hours. If you need to retry quests because of failure, maybe around 6 hours?

I see, so I would start Thackeray's scavenger quest now then. And regarding the Wanted by the Shining Blade, it's like 1 boss/day? Is it worth doing it daily anyway?

Is my 1st step to find the candles? :(

I did WiK twice and didn't do the scavenger hunt once. There are ways around that.

You can bring the supplies that Thackeray wants (candles, meal, sweet, and drink) in any order.
The candles are the only "must have" to complete the scavenger hunt because there is no alternative that he will accept in place of them. However, if you don't want to make the journey to Old Ascalon, you can simply buy the candles from another player. If you're going for the maximum possible reward from the quest, it might be best to give him the candles last, when you are sure that you've gotten the full reward in every other category.
You can also get some honeycombs ( Quest reward for A Hunter's Pride OR
from Galton Franks in exchange for 8 Stone Grawl Necklaces ) and trade them candles from necromancer Munne at Sardelac Sanitarium.
8 Stone Grawl Necklaces are hard to collect though, so if you have done A Hunter's Pride quest, the only reasonable way is by buying the honeycombs or candles.
Fishermen's Haven feels quicker, though I've never timed either.
