Just got an Android (glee), now... what do cool kids put on those things?

Not exactly... I have a tablet for all the fun stuff and a phone to forget...

I had a smartphone. I hated it. I returned it and got a simple Nokia in return (work phone).


But I put the World of Goo on my tablet yesterday! Don't do that, it's time consuming...

Although in my case, it's less that I need my smartphone to do all this stuff, and more that I feel guilty having such an expensive device and not making use of it in a way that justifies the cost.

Any regular phone with decent internet ability and GPS would be fine. Mine can do 3D games and movies, I don't use that stuff.

The GPS comes in handy like crazy. It's not as easy as having a real GPS, but having a map at your fingertips at all times that can pinpoint you and get you basic directions is very helpful. I use the map function CONSTANTLY on my phone. I don't get directions that often (since streets are mostly just numbers here), but I am constantly using it to find a business.

Funny story, I was stranded at work today (work is a 20 min train ride away) and the trains weren't running because of some silly thing.

But thanks to my phone and my handy dandy app I was able to figure out how to get home via buses that I had never taken before.

And I can listen to music, and read, and check/post in these forums, see my calendar, take pictures, get emails, send emails, etc etc etc. Oh and it also makes and receives my calls, and my texts.

Its like a personal assistant, in robot form and that fits in my pocket.

All the cool kids install Carrier IQ on their phones.

Well, they don't actually install it, it's put there by the mobile provider and hidden from sight.

And by kids I mean everybody, young and old alike.

And by cool I mean anyone with an Android or Apple phone (In the US at least).

And by phone I mean phone.

If you have an android device, just download and install a rom with CIQ removed. I'd imagine that all custom roms would likely have it removed now.

Though, a video app that can connect via DLNA and can play .TS files would be nice...
