Well, it's that time again! Iowa's Republican caucus was last night.
Santorum was declared winner, though Romney seems to have beaten him by eight votes. Either way isn't very promising. Ron Paul came in third, Newt in fourth, Rick Perry in fifth, Bachmann in sixth (lulz). After saying she would see the end of Obama's "Liberal reign," Bachmann bowed out of the race today; she's still pledging to battle Obama, though. She's just awful. Santorum, if elected, will almost certainly start a new war in the Middle East. Actually, Paul is probably the only one who wouldn't and seems like a great candidate all around (he does not support NDAA or SOPA).

Speaking of NDAA, Obama signed it off (a weapon against him in the next elections imo). I think Romney is going to take it after New Hampshire as he has done extensive prep work there. Santorum did the most PR work in Iowa; Romney did little and still came head to head. Ron Paul I do not think is seen to be electable compared to Obama by many and will rapidly decline in New Hampshire. Romney also just got backed by McCain; though If I were Romney, I'd take it for the the votes, and never bring his name up again through the rest of the campaign, lol (McCain, ehhhh.... initial backer of the NDAA). It will be interesting to see how the New Hampshire debates go this coming Saturday.
I am glad Gingrich will be there and hopefully Perry for lulz.
In the end, it is kind of sad how much voting follows media appearance rather than the actual facts behind an individual, imo.
...
I really want to see a Steven Colbert hosted Republican debate, by possible sponsors such as the Animal or Discovery Channel as he suggested, lulz.
Not really lulz, but anyone hear about the cheap Palin ads for candidacy played across Iowa; that is one lady I do not want to see back in the news, even on comedy. Same for "the Donald" if he has any crazy ideas to run as a third party for presidency...
And speaking of debates... most all the news networks are shamelessly putting on such extravagant introductions and such; making them feel more like political cage matches or some other sport-like event. I say keep it simple and don't hype important stuff to the point where it looks trivial.

Again, the rest of the world will have to witness strange times. Euros will have to google "caucus" & "electoral college" again. Let the fun times begin.![]()

Ugh, I saw Palin's face and heard her voice during the caucus coverage and I had to walk away - that was enough for me. The interviewer even said something about how she built a successful career or some kiss-a** garbage and I just laughed and walked away.
Obama did sign NDAA - that is the main reason I would vote for Ron Paul over him. At the risk of sounding total Obama fanboy (I swear I'm not anymore), a few things make it less horrible:
He could not have vetoed it - Congress would have just passed it without him. (Kind of ridiculous that Congress have 5% approval rating at this point and they're still allowed to do things like pass laws the people don't agree with.)
Signing it allowed him to issue signing statements. Not legally binding, but they are supposed to help the way legislature is interpreted.
Some say that the NDAA, in its revised state, did not grant the government any power it did not already have via AUMF.

Stupid congress.
And yeah, it's not fair to fault Obama if he really had no say in this. It's also not fair to blame him if the new law is bad but not really worse than existing laws.
Hopefully, Americans are waking up from their "democracy is awesome" dream and will start being less accepting of all that BS, especially stuff that is labelled as freedom or free trade and yet is the opposite.

Hey Americans, it looks like you can have our president.
(he took a cheap private credit during his time as head of a state & it is backfiring at the moment. He also did not handle the press very well the past few days.)

He's a bigot who apparently doesn't even believe people have a right to privacy. Also, he wants to bomb Iran.
