I liked what I read in one of the comments. It also kind of maked sense.
It was something like this:
"The game is probably practically finished. It makes no sense that ArenaNet would release a game full of bugs to the press. They would extrapolate and probably give a very bad preview of the game. I guess they're mostly looking for some gamebreaking bugs and to promote the game, but apart from that, my guess is it's nearly finished."
One can hope.
^That goes with what Anet said before about how gamers expect open beta to mean finished product. Not only that, but I'd think that if they wanted proper feedback from the beta events, they'd be running them during the week and not just on weekends. No, I think these events are just to promote the game and any bugs that might pop up will be patched on launch day.
So far my predictions for "open beta" in March and only on weekends came true. And although I think it might be unlikely, I'll stick to my release prediction for April.
Edit: Just thought of something else. Pax East is early April... What better way to end the beta weekend events than to have the people at home and at Pax East play together?

I'd love a release early April or late March. My exams will suffer anyway, so I'd rather play it during the easter holidays.
Agree with the above, open beta probably doesn't mean actual beta. It probably means that the game is finished but the server infrastructure isn't fully in place yet.
Didn't ANet say they are treating open beta as a demo, since they know that is how most players view beta these days?
Think they also said the launch would not correspond with the next GW1 anniversary, so we're probably looking at May at the earliest.
August 30th is my birthday (but release before my birthday please. Way before it :P)
Remember ArenaNet my birthday is first, so May would make all our birthdays great!
