I didn't even know you could buy it off of steam ;)
I'm not sure how to start.. How do you know you're on the trial version?
The best way to solve this of course would be to contact Steam or ANet directly.

Ah yes, you might have to enter the access keys in-game. Once you log in your account but before you log in with your character, there should be an option like manage account or add keys. Hopefully Steam emailed you account keys that you can enter there.
Another thing that might be happening is that some online games have a delay before the trial period ends to avoid botting. I don't remember if GW has that. If it's that, in which case it should go away on its own.

Just about every Steam title that requires any registration of a CD key will almost always bring up a box showing you your keys when you fire up the game as well as through the ingame overlay by default, with the option to copy them to the clipboard to spare you the hassle of typing them in. I'd assume the same would apply to GW, though don't quote me on that.
If this doesn't happen, right-click on the game in the Games list and look for the option to show your keys.
There's no shame in asking questions. Ask away at the Newcomer and Questions Forum for GW2. GW1 archive here.
Here comes your warrior, he's letting you know... that you can discuss the profession here.

Love the Copy to Clipboard function. Steam does so many things right.
Heh, something told me when I saw sorudo as the final poster in this thread that I'd be reading a disparaging remark about steam. We get it man, you hate it... too bad for you that you're in the minority. This isn't a discussion for whether it's good or not though, eh? I mean, I'd probably be up for one, but I know you'd just say what you always do and not listen to anyone so what's even the point?
Assuming you didn't make a new account/play through steam yet do this:
load steam
click library tab
right click guild wars
click "view game cd key"
Copy that down somewhere and start guild wars.
Click "create account or add access key".
next page add to existing account and log in.
Type(paste) in key, click next, and that *should* be it
...otherwise you will need to contact steam/ncsoft.

It will be interesting to see how this is resolved. GW on Steam...whoda thunk it?
