I think that the in-game cost of these things will be pretty high, to be honest. Especially bag slots. I'm basing that off of other games.
Well, they're still in beta so it's all subject to change.
Remember that GW 2 is supposed to have a flat (or mostly flat) leveling curve. So it's not like you'll blow through levels 1-10 and want to save all your XP stones for level 70+.For the exp boost it is VERY important how long it takes to level in hours. If short => okay. If long => not okay.
The kits and repair canister are only okay if they are permanent with a cooldown
Resurrection stone same thing actually, give it a 30 minutes cooldown or something
Didn't we have res scrolls in GW 1? What remains to be seen is how we'll acquire res stones in GW 2 without the use of gems.
for real I'm not liking this at all.
Bank tabs and bag slots should be available in game. Also, bags themselves in the cash shop? Does not set a good example. I know there's the technicality of "But you can just trade gold for gems!" but that's seriously the kind of **** that every awful F2P MMO does, and I detest it. Same thing with experience, karma, and etc. boosts. Way against that kind of garbage.
The Megaphone has got to be a joke. Get that **** out.
If it's about $1 for 100 gems then wow transmutation stones are also overpriced, considering you'll need a bunch of them to complete a set.
Mystic key? No. Just, simply, no. I get why they did it; there's no doubt on my mind those ****ty crates have made Valve a ton of money, but there is nothing worse than getting a drop you can't even use.
I think I could honestly live with this if there was actually a segregation of in-game gold and gems. As in, you can't trade gold for gems. Or just things have a fixed cash price and gems are removed completely. I hate that kind of system of a "superior" type of currency, and again, you pretty much only see it in crap F2P games. Maybe if GW2 didn't have a $60 fee to start in the first place it'd be a bit more bearable.
Obviously I'm still going to pre-purchase, but I hope to god they change this ****ty cash shop.

First reaction: WHHAAAAAT? Pay-to-win?
Second reaction: Ok wait, a lot of the boosts are really small, so meh. 10%, who cares.
Third reaction: REPAIR KITS AND REZ ORBS WWWWHHHHHHHAAAAAAATTTTT?
You died. Insert quarter to continue.

You can tell the quality of life of people by what they complain about
Remember, as it stands, we know that items in the cash shop can be purchased with in-game gold. There's nothing to indicate right now that repair kits and res orbs won't be just as easy to buy with gold as with gems.
Remember how much extra gold is sitting around on your GW 1 characters right now.
I'm not sure what you're asking nor how it relates to the deduction.
Gems for gold seems to be like puting it up at a marketplace: x gems for minimum y gold.
Gold for gems is reversed: z gold for minimum a gems.
As you can buy both kits and canisters in bulk, they're probably single use or at the most, b charges per use.
IIRC, the first 20 levels are supposed to be quite fast, with levels post-20 taking between 30-45 minutes a piece. Going by 20 minutes for 1 level (which is ridiculously optimistic), that means 20 hours for the last 60 levels, so let's say 25 hours for level 80.
More overreactions, yay!
The only thing - only thing - that I don't like is the res orbs, but that's only with the assumption that this is the only way of getting them. Which I doubt.
The megaphone I can see being annoying, but I can also see it being immensely useful for people who run in-game events (stuff like the Pink Day in LA, Halloween and Wintersday workshop parties, etc.).
Boosts...big deal. The game has a linear leveling model, instead of a curved one like most games, so leveling really isn't that important or difficult. If someone is trying to do something and has so little time to put into the game that they want to spend a few dollars on a boost, I'm not going to begrudge them that. Time is money, after all.
Character slots and extra storage we already knew would be in there as they are for GW1. Glad to see those back, myself.
I honestly don't see the reasons for the massive explosions over this. What I am disgusted with is not the cash shop contents, but the complete and total meltdown people have had over it, as well as the fact that it was leaked in the first place.
I've also been playing gw1 for years, and made a killing from the xunlai tournament house.. however, gw2 won't have a free 250k each month.
And for what it's worth, if there were gems in gw1, 250k would almost be enough to get you 400 of them. (Using the rate of 100 ectos, $5 would give you the equivalent of ~275k)
