I want to provide a thread here on the forum, where you can post ideas for character builds.
1st tool to post your ideas: http://www.gw2tools.com/skills#el
Plain and simple. You can link the URL once the build is complete.
Site link, e.g.:
Type of build: Signet heavy - Mid-range build - requires swapping
http://www.gw2tools.com/skills#el;ff...eaa;Ycaa;YfUeb
You can also chose a 2nd tool for displaying your build: http://www.gw2builds.org/create/bwe_1/elementalist
A 3rd tool to post your ideas: http://gw2.luna-atra.fr/skills_tool/?lang=en
Graphically more elaborate. You can either use a URL link or embed the link to a IMG tag to show the build, like depicted below (IMG link: http://medias.luna-atra.fr/gw2/skill...0o0s0u13ec1gf0).
Site link: http://gw2.luna-atra.fr/skills_tool/...0o0s0u13ec1gf0
I am looking forward to all your builds and the discussions about them.
About discussing builds: This is about sharing and showing others ideas about your own style of playing. The builds posted might not be "the best builds ever", but as long as they don't include major flaws, please don't nitpick on them and keep a discussion civilized.
A small reminder at the end: People adding their builds here will probably assign 80 trait points to their characters, which are only available to maxed out PvE Elementalists at level 80 or PvP characters that a "side-kicked-up" to a maximum level.
To be more precise in your description of builds, you could add something like this:
Type of build: Signet heavy - Mid-range build - requires swapping
Annotation: Start out with Signet enhancing traits from the Earth Magic line

I see a lot of potential for builds that cater to a specific skill type e.g. Glyphs, Signets, Conjures ect.
That are a lot of traits that benefit specific skill types. I will make a few up later as examples.

I feel like this is what I'd try to be with my elementalist to start with. The general idea is to be basically tossing out conditions and attuning all over the place, hence the maxed out arcane power to try and help with that recharge. I'm thinking the dagger style moves are going to bring me back to the elementalist.

A dual dagger build that uses glyphs and focuses on hit and run techniques along with procs based on attunements to make most use of every attunement.

Wind Rider
Type: Damage & Support (mobility)
Profession: Elementalist
Focus: PVP
The Gist
PVP, both structured and WvW, revolves around more than just being able to kill an enemy quickly. Mobility is a key factor on a strategic level -- it allows you to outmatch the enemy, reach critical locations like the center cap point first, run an orb, travel to resource camps for resupply, or simply is a good way to scout ahead. In this build we will maximise our personal mobility to an extreme level and then fill the gaps in the build to balance group support and survivability.

@Gorani
I like your healing, utility and elite skills. I'm going to have a hard time running any bar that doesn't have the GoEH simply because of it's versatility in so many situations. I also think the Arcane Power trait line will prove to be the most powerful overall and the others simply used to augment a particular build.
Moderator's note:
All builds posted before this announcement were made before the tier system for both skills & traits was implemented. Please take that into account when looking at the builds.

New build tools:
- German site at gw.gameplorer.de (in German)
- The Luna-Atra people share their tool with http://en.gw2codex.com/build/generator/ now
I'll try to list you some build featured on various "Guild Wars 2 build sites". I of course have not played all of them so I can not tell you if they are good or bad or even outdated after changes to the trait system e.g.:
- Current builds at www.gw2builds.org

Type of build: Adaptable Glyphs - Dagger/Dagger - Summon Support
Annotation: Trait points used for a level 40 character, fill up starting with Earth for survivability and end with raising Arcana from 0 to 10.
Weakness: Utility skills 8-10 are not available for under water combat.
This is what I am currently using with my PvE Elementalist (Weapon could also be a Staff; utility bar stays unchanged).
The main hand dagger offers high close range damage, the off hand dagger burst damage potential (Fire & Earth), control (Air) and healing (Water). GloEH both heals and adds boons (e.g. speed for escaping & travelling), the other Glyphs can provide a lot of different support (e.g. mass blind or chill) and a durable ally (Stone Elementals); Arcane Wave can be used a blast finisher when bursting out damage with its guaranteed critical hit.
The minor traits provide some basics + Elemental Attunement lets you get vital boons for attacking or defence.
Progressing this build:
After hitting Level 50, I went for some "Auto-protection", as I discovered that I can kill pretty much everything in PvE, if I don't get overwhelmed and I am better at staying on target than switching in some protective moves and switching back. That's why I went with adding points to gain 10 Water & 10 Earth and the Cleansing Wave (removes one condition for me and my allies, when attuning to Water) + Earth's Embrace (auto-cast "Armor of Earth" when you hit 50% Health) traits. (Build)

I currently have a lvl 20 Elementalist and I love my quick/powerful burst damage when using dual daggers and fire attunement. So far I am happy with my build, however I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations on skills/traits for a dual dagger PvE fire attunement build. Any suggestions, tips, ideas, etc. would be most appreciated. :-)
