Think I might organise my pre-purchase tomorrow and see if I can get in on this. LA seals the deal even if I'm may be seeing it at 2 to 3 fps.
Woah. Qanar, is that whole thing Lion's Arch? That place is enormous! I hope it is not a pain to navigate.
NOOOO!!! someone must hate me. The beta had to be on the weekend i'm due to change my ISP. i've never known an ISP switch to go smoothly. i guess i'll probably have to wait for the second beta weekend.
And fae since we can swim in GW2 we can always hope that the ponie hill will still be accessable, so it could be visited for old times sake. And i am sure you will find some new place to hang your hats when AFKing.
I suggest you go look at the Black Citadel, Divinity's Reach and Hoelbrak tours that akamikeb posted on gamebreaker.tv. The cities in GW2 are HUGE. Good thing too as we only got 6 major cities :)

I resized it a bit more, so that the town shield fit precicely into the circle "old LA". That puts the Molokk's Split on top of the keep where Salma is after WiK and the New Town Center where the asuran gate is.

Ooh Lion's Arch is open now. Gotta explore!
The waypoint travel within any one city is free, if I recall correctly. As long as you take the time to go activate all the waypoints, it shouldn't be too much of a bother.
No worries, the outside is well done too. They're huge like the cities, so you'll have plenty of areas to explore around. You'll realize it when you try to run a marathon through them without using waypoints.
... I hope I won't have too much work next weekend. I will need to get homework and project responsibilities out of the way early to squeeze some GW2 in...

I found the outsides full of fun things to explore. Well, ok, the outside of the charr starter area, being the only one I explored... but it was full of fun stuff. Just off the top of my head, there was a lake with a climbable cliff (I never figured out how to climb it though), another larger lake with tons of kraits (or something), a wall with ghosts, an underground of caves in addition to the underground catacombs (starter area boss, then later the first dungeon), an area with humans and catapults, an area with ogres and fortifications, at least two outposts one of which had a high-level charr challenge you to a fight, an arena that you could enter to do fights, a charr fortification that gets attacked, a small river with a charr sub being repared, a monument to some past event, a place to practice cannon shooting...
Yeah, not your usual WoW large empty areas with lots of red dots. The outside areas are full of things to see and explore and do.
