I REALLY wish they would fix #5 the out of range thing is barley visible with all the traffic from the events and on top of that even if ur out of range the damn skill goes off. At least make it so that is cancels it self if ur out of range so i don't have to stay out of combat.
Being out of range sucks and I'm glad they at least give you a message. I dunno if I would enjoy stopping a spell if out of range but I do like the idea of auto moving me into range.
Honestly though, I noticed after a few hours of play that I was moving into range automatically without even realizing it. After the first day I was barely ever out of range when casting.

For me, the range is something to learn--was annoying at first though. As someone else commented though, red out the whole skill, would be tops.
edit:
after thinking about it, redding out the whole skill would be extremely annoying after a while--how about muting the colors of the skill--like on recharge, but without the timer?

This, I could accept. However, to be honest, I didn't realize the tiny numbers under the skill changed color to tell you that you were out of range.
Ironic: They didn't add red dots because they want you to focus on thew screen...but they put tiny numbers under skills to tell you when you're in range.....um....OK?
It's not just a question about player skills here. I would love to have an option just point and click to move around ( outside of battle ) just because it's boring use a w d for that.
That said I totally can understand why we don't have it in gw2 but still it would be nice....

I do like having my character automatically run in GW1 to someplace far away--for that I wouldn't mind seeing this feature back. Even if it were in battle or not--if one is able to go chuck noris with their keys and point click movement, all the best; I love my AWSD.
Having the option in-game doesn't break anything for anyone else.

This I dont understand, quicktravel in most games I know including WoW has loading screens (mage portal etc), the only seamless travel option you had was on a gryphon ride, which most people - here at least - consider a time waste. I see your point about the transition between zones but I dont think this will be a huge deterrent to regular MMO players, AoC also had it, Vanguard had it to an extent, ok not the most succesfulll MMO's ever but I don't think the zoning mechanic was the reason for that. GW1 had no persistent world, ie you wouldnt run into other players while questing apart from the group you had taken with you, this put a lot of people off, not the zoning mechanic as such I think.
What I do see as a potential problem is the overflow mechanic, they willl need to enable quick transition between regular and overflow so as to avoid splitting up the community too much. SWTOR had the same issues in the beginning and got critisized a lot for it.

It would be nice to manually select to transfer over into the overflow from regular to be with friends; obviously would be queued vice versa. As far as zoning into the same instance as a group, I am under the impression that ANet was going to make sure it happened?--i.e., whole group into overflow if needed.
Perhaps Anet's new server system is built not to allow--or there would be some loss of control, but if there are already multiple instances, why not just have it go back to districts like in GW1?

Yes that was my thought as well. The current lack of control over overflow/regular server is frustrating to say the least, especially since it doesnt seem to reserve your spot whenever you go into anything resembling an instance (like the personal story). When I first read about the overflow thing I assumed it would apply to your world only, not to every individual zone. I can see the benefits of the current system but I would highly appreciate some kind of control over where we end up. Keeping the party together is a good start but in all honesty I don't hope that is the only way I can gaurantee to see my friends/guildies around (especially since partying has become less of a necessity).
These I find rather good combat mechanics. I don't want my character to move unless I press wasd. If you can't see red, then you should turn on the colourblind option. If you can't read "out of range" you should go to basic school to read. Other than that, learning to not suck is basically required, but I don't see that as a problem.
Sarcasm thread?
