Okay, so the game's ****ing awesome. But I haven't seen a simple and to-the-point list of the bad aspects of the game yet. This is meant to be a simple bullet point list of annoyances, and their status. Then we can scope out the changes between now and the next BWE.
------
-Party members did not stay together when in overflow servers. (Known issue.)
-No world dueling (will be implemented after launch.)
-Arrow carts were super overpowered. (Nerf incoming.)
-Melee seemed to be more difficult than ranged. (Post by Jon Peters on the subject here.)
-Some scaling issues with some bosses, champions hit too hard. (Known.)
-Turret cooldowns were not triggering at appropriate times, and/or disappearing after a few seconds. (Looking into it.)
-No sell all junk button. (Coming!)
-No tutorial. (Known issue, includes more reassurance about event scaling, and monster/quest/event balance.)
--
-Unlocking weapon skills got old pretty fast, especially after using multiple sets for a while then finding a new shiny weapon only to be back to one skill.
-Some heart quests felt grindy (such as Beetleton) and completing them didn't have a noticeable effect on the world.
-Camera snaps back behind you when you let go of the left mouse button.
-Camera can't be zoomed out very far.
-No first person view (for screenshots!).
-No keyboard modifiers, as in being able to press Shift + 1 to activate your healing skill.
-High spawn rate of enemies in some areas, such as centaurs in the east part of Queensdale.
-No /say command to talk to people in your immediate vicinity, only zone-wide local chat.
-Likewise, no speech bubbles overhead makes it hard to tell who's talking at any given moment.
-Personal story ramps up in level extremely quickly, and I was eventually told my next story was level 16 while I was still 10.
-Dye unlocks / costumes / tonics not account-wide.
-Out of range damage text is hard to see in large battles. (Perhaps having skills fade out when you're not in range.)
-Overlapping damage numbers.
-Bank storage is small and can't be left open around town as in gw1.
-Unable to add friends via GW2 ID.
-Log out to char selection!
-Custom chat channels, and/or multi-guild chat?
-No armor preview on control+clicking, and sending an item link to chat only works if you have the item in your inventory.
-Full screen map makes running and navigating at the same time fairly hard to pull off. (Possibly solved when we can scale up the size of the radar.)
-UI elements were not able to be scaled or moved around. (Oh hey if only there were addons to help out with that..)
-Cant copy/paste chat text
-Cant copy/use HTML links in chat
-Cant send a mail until the first mail has been recieved.
-Bosses don't telegraph their attacks.
-Visual effect cluster****.
-Unable to inspect other people.
-No alliances.
-Merchants should have salvage kits and harvest supplies. Finding out which merchant sold what sucked.
-Boost items still suck, and makes it feel like we're playing MapleStory or something instead of a WoW-killer.
-INVISIBLE WALLS D: D: D: D:
I'll update the list as more legitimate grievances are posted. (Hint: Complaining that you're missing attacks because you're standing out of range is not legitimate. Unlike gw1, gw2 does not play itself for you.)
Two big ones for me were actually that leveling crafting professions is super duper grindy and that the default bank size is super duper tiny, and it costs a pretty good bit of gems to expand it.

Try this one: make the visual clue larger that shows you're not in range... If I need to look at the gameworld (love the lack of red dots!) don't force me to squint at some tiny numbers not in the game world. The text "out of reach" (or whatever it was) was lost in the particle effect.

Not something I experienced personally since I didnt play around with the casshop but on the forums I read that dyes and costumes only unlock for a single character and not account wide as was hinted at in Anets blog post on dyes (not costumes but I know they did in GW1).

-The camera lags behind the movement of your character and can't be zoomed out far enough
-Damage numbers overlap which often makes it impossible to tell how much damage you're actually dealing
The out of range thing didn't really bother me, seeing your character fire projcetiles into the distance without hitting anything was clue enough for me.
Question: Is the UI going to be changeable?
It's pretty and all, but I'd like to be able to move elements around and resize the ones I don't use all the time. Maybe I just missed how to do it, but the map in the bottom right hand corner was driving me nuts, since I'm used having my map at the top. I'd also like to be able to move my Rangers Pet interface. It's current location just seems odd to me. I'll need to play around a bit to figure out where I'd like it.
Hopefully they are working on chat, guild management functions as part of the development process. But here are mine as it stood at the weekend
Guild Management is fiddly:
- Cant right click on a name to invite or manage from a chat window
- Could'nt right click on name in the roster to send a chat message
- Roster should be the first page, not a summary of stats
- No numeric summary of ranks or indication of how many slots are remaining
- No last login date
- Text showing guild rank not shown(could'nt find a way to give ranks customs symbols either)
- According to Gamebreaker http://www.gamebreaker.tv/mmorpg/blown-away/ (22:00) the maximum guild size was 100 in this beta. With no alliance chat or way of interacting except via tell, if kept for live this will utterly destroy large alliances of guilds, especially those in multiple regions. PLEASE FIX :O
Chat Issues:
- Cant copy/paste chat text
- Cant copy/use HTML links in chat
- No custom colours
- Chat window size is too small, especially on larger screens(Yes I was on the largest size setting)
- Cant re-arrange order of tabs, or seperate them out into multiple windows
- Combat log only shows limited info. Would prefer to have different settings like Damage to me, Damage to them, Damage to others, my healing on others, their healing on me etc. Basically all the stuff needed to know what attack to avoid, and what effects your spells etc are having
Mail system
- Cant mail to other servers. Restricts a whole load of stuff from managing world wide guilds, to community run events
- Cant send a mail until the first mail has been recieved. Again limits community events, and guild co-operation
- Cant right click on a player to interact/mail. Need to move to the name tag and do it. Clumsy
Mystic keys stink.
Some of the biggest problems in GW2 right now are these, and they are not on your list:
Bosses lack proper "tells", so you know when to dodge a powerful attack that might insta-kill you. Especially when a lot of visual effects are going on, you can't see what the boss is doing.
Too many visual effects make it impossible to see what is happening in general. You can't see if you are hitting an enemy in melee, or where the enemy is when other players are doggy piling him. Although the effects have been toned down a little, it still is a blinding spam fest of spells.
The story and writing are terrible. None of the characters have any personality to speak of. Lines for your own character are annoying and stupid. The story is predictable from start to finish.
No proper tutorials. Crafting is not properly explained, nor is combat. Each class involves a vastly different way of playing, yet there aren't any class specific tutorials. There is a lot that you have to find out for yourself.
Some skill challenges are bugged, often because the npc responsible dies and doesn't resurrect, making it impossible to get that skillpoint.
A very sudden difficulty spike once you are around level 16/19. There don't seem to be enough quests to naturally make you level faster, so the enemies in some ares will insta kill you because of your level and equipment. The better armour doesn't seem to unlock until you hit level 20. So there's a gap there that must be filled.
