There's lots more to it, but not anything that would be of use, I suspect.
GW1 works just fine, but apparently people have experienced this kind of error before with GW1. I have no idea what it means.

Yep, I've done all the things. I updated the drivers, then I deleted them and clean installed the drivers, I checked the page file, tried these switches (-sndwinmm, -dsound, -sndasio) and so on. Everything is as it should be. Gonna test a few more games and memtest it, and if nothing shows up, I think it can be assumed that ArenaNet need to fix the client. Siiigh.
edit: where would be best to get in touch with ArenaNet support over this?

Yeah, they are there. Tested some more games (also online ones) and they all work.

Sorry I have no suggestions for your crash, kokabel, and since the beta forums are deactivated when the beta is closed, I don't know how you would go about reporting it. :(
I am sad. I need some GW2. I did get to play all three days of the BWE and about half of the stress test. The BWE weekend was so amazing. The stress test I too felt a little letdown. I think it was because I knew it was so short.
I am playing Fallout3 while I wait, so that's good. No I've never played it before so it is very entertaining and I am staying up late every night playing, so that's a good testament to it's entertainment value. But I still want my GW2. /crave

http://support.guildwars2.com/ though I'm not sure if it only gets checked when a beta event or stress test is in progress.

Did you have to change a setting long ago for GW to get through the firewall or not be hampered by anti-virus and might need to do the same for GW2? Other than that, I am stumped.

Nope, this a totally new machine, bought with ideas of epic Guild Wars 2 in mind (and epic photoshopping, but whocares about that). GW1 works absolutely fine. Other games work fine too, ruling out hardware issues. I tried different driver versions and it still hasn't fixed it, so I'm going to say it's the client itself just not liking my setup, which should get fixed. Sadly, the beta tech support forums are only open during the events, so nothing much to be done right now, which is frustrating.
I just want to be able to play the next event on this machine, it's going to look amazing. I could just rip out the hdd, reinstall an OS on it and put it back in my other machine, but I would really, really rather not go that route.
