Just a little news item for your information. Guild Wars 2 introduces a new color coding for its items that does not follow the footsteps of the original Guild Wars. It looks like this: Most of the PvE drops we have seen in the beta events so far have been basic whites and fine blues [...]

Darn it!
I salvaged a red the other day which dropped from a rat in Salma's Heath (Tough quest!)
Well I guess it's only beta and so I couldn't have kept it anyway

lol Yeah, Art, I wouldn't be too upset about that one.
Kind of strange that red is their max-level... I have that "Red = Bad" in my head, you know? Also a little bizarre that they are switching their own system, wherein green / gold are the best. /shrug
I like that the second-best are called Exotic. Exotic. Though, I admit, I suspect that some of these items will not get much use after a time. It'll probably be like GW1 where most people are using gold or green.
Anyone notice something? Blue, yellow, and red are all primary colors. Blue + yellow = green which is in between the two, and same with orange. Also, they're going from cool colors to hot colors. Purple is kind of an in between cool and hot imo, so it makes sense that it's the color left off the coding.
Well, I'll be darned.

Perhaps we get rainbow weapons!

Hmm, maybe for an expansion? It could have ponies and unicorns and there could be a nyan cat that you have to chase down in order to "find the rainbow". Beating the expansion would give you a piece of said rainbow that you could trade for a rainbow colored weapon, which obviously would be max damage with the max number of upgrade slots. Hey, if blizzard can make an expansion out of pandas then why not?
Yeah, if anet ever hires me for some strange reason, we're all doomed.
